The only teacher I ever got in a big fight with was an English teacher who at first would not admit that my interpretation was as valid as hers, and then finally did but only gave me 1/2 credit. On the other hand, my freshman English class was one of the best courses I ever took. There is just a lot of variety in professors, and also in how they respond to different students. Good luck! I'm currently teaching a college summer class and worry I'm not giving enough to the students. I want them to learn more than I ever learned in my classes.
