Ssss-aaaa-ffff-eeee-tttt-yyyy
Safety-dance!
Whether this song is about safe sex, slam dancing, or the fear of leaving familiar and well known surroundings for something new, it has been playing over and over again in my head today. While some may find it annoying, it has been a fun diversion with the media, communications division, concerned parents, grief-stricken and frightened students and staff, and the crisis response team on and/or near campus all day.
We can dance.
We can dance.
Everything’s under control.
The victim survived surgery and is now in stable condition. The shooter has not been apprehended.
Is it safe to dance? Oh, is it safe to dance?

Honestly, CV, this scares the crap out of me. We’re out here for you, and you can email me if you want and I’ll give you my phone number…
Dude, I just realized the lead singer there reminds me of my one friend…he looks so much like him, though I can’t picture him acting silly like that. Then again, he IS in the theatre!
And he played Frankfurter in the college’s Rocky Horror Picture Show club, so….
huh?!… this song was about the dangers of nuclear war…
It is? Nuclear war? Really? That is too funny; I was in college when this song was popular and I never picked up on that.
yes ‘Boog’ knows his Men without Hats..
@ Mrs. Chili ~ Thanks! We are all okay. I am just shocked and dismayed.
@ Allison ~ Thanks for bringing some “lightness” to the situation.
@ anonymous #3 ~ I never said the song was not about nuclear war. Let’s focus on me, people. I said it was stuck in my head and WHETHER it is about those things. Sweet Jebus, out yourself!
@ Saintseester ~ Ditto. It’s just a fun song.
@ Boog ~ We know you are perpetually stuck in the 80’s.
Hey! Boog can’t help his DNA. His mommy is perpetually stuck in the 60’s through the 70’s. And his daddy is tone-deaf.
Ooh la la!
Ohh la la and scary.
Now now, there is nothing wrong with being stuck in the 80’s
@ nunsense ~ That explains so much on so many levels. Just kidding.
@ Melissa ~ Thankfully, we can now call it a learning experience.
@ Starrlight ~ I didn’t say there was. I am a product of the 80’s too. LOL.
