As much as I would sell my soul to Lucifer himself for one of these babies, I am not making a PC to Mac switch … yet. However, I am making the switch over to WordPress and have secured my own domain. I am withholding all the bookmark information for now because I am not sure how long this “switch” will take. I know I profess to be a geek, but I am terrified that I will mess it all up. Obviously, I am more of a dork than a geek. I will be taking baby steps over the next few days (possibly weeks) for a smooth transition. This may mean editing and retitling some old posts and adding labels to the really older posts in my archives. If anything pops up in your feed readers as new, I will not apologize because it will be new and improved.
The next step will be to get a custom design. No, I will be purchasing one. My talent is with words not web design. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, leave me a comment or email me at cajunvegan at gmail dot com.
On a side note, I am not feeling any better. I even ran fever again last night. To top it all off, I started my period this morning. I must decide soon if I am going to screw my administrative team for tomorrow the way they screwed me on Thursday. All snarkiness aside, I probably should see a doctor. Whatever this is will either kill me or make me snarkier.

Two things:
Flu + period = God is a man.
And, second, Blogger and I will try not to cry as you leave for something bigger and better.
You are going to LOVE WordPress once you get it set up. I never would have been able to do it by myself; as it was, my Geek struggled with it. But there are plenty of geniuses out there who know what they’re doing. All you have to do is ask around.
As far as designers, I recommend either Peggy at “Mommy Mishaps” — that’s who did mine — or Jennifer (”Kentucky Girl”) at Weblog Design Studios.
Before you spend dollas on a new webdesign, check out the templates at http://themes.wordpress.net/
It is a good resource with hundreds of themes - a place to start for good ideas about layouts and color schemes you might like.
Oh and I hope you feel better soon.
Good grief!
I have to agree with jen on the
“Flu + period = God is a man.”
Feel better soon!
I have the wordpress bug every couple of months but the fear factor is huge. I salute you for boldly going where I am too chicken shit to go!
Oh, I so want the new Mac and as soon as my budget allows for one…it’s mine! Plus my laptop is dying.
As far as WordPress is concerned I believe you can move your Blogger files pretty easily and if you need help let me know. I made that transition once.
As far as design you can’t go wrong with one of Jennifer or Rachel’s designs at Weblog Studios. I must have 2,000 templates that Rachel did for Clusterfook. Just tell them I sent you…LOL
Let me know if you need any halp, okay? Email me and I’ll give you MY IM ADDRESSES! OOH!
P.S. I hope you are feeling better. I am, mostly!
My advice- Drugs! For both flu and period.
Good for you for taking the leap to WordPress. I think you’ll like it. It was like moving out of my parents house for good when I left Blogger
My only complaint (and if anyone can help me with this, I’ll be forever grateful) is that WordPress doesn’t support the neat-o, cool site meters (like, you know, SiteMeter) and I really miss all that fun data. Other than that, I love, love, love WordPress.
