Oh, yes, I did trek to The Reading Room at Mandalay Place with Monkey Boy in tow to pick up Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows at 12:01 AM. Hey, it’s Vegas, baby; we do it up casino style. Here are the seven reasons why I did in honor of this being the seventh and final book in the series:
1. I am a fabu stepmom.
2. I purchase all my HP crack in a casino to avoid the screaming babies at Borders and Barnes & Noble.
3. I love queueing with the pimply-faced masses. I love me some witches and wizards, freaks and geeks, and muggles.
4. I haven’t slept more than five hours anyway in the last few nights. I might smother the resident snorer with my pillow if this continues much longer.
5. I had to “outdo” MB’s maternal G-ma who had the nerve to order a copy for him that is supposed to arrive via UPS sometime later today even though she knows we buy him every book since the series came out. I hope they deliver it to the wrong address. Besides, MB has already cracked the spine on mine. Boo-ya!
6. I was not expected to so by MB; he said he could wait. Maybe he is not a brat after all, but he does still stink.
7. I got something out of it too. Mamma got to see Adrian Grenier at the craps table with his own “entourage.” He is definitely HAWT-er in person than he is on the screen. I think I have a new crush.

OUR copy should arrive by UPS today… yes, nuns read Harry Potter. Who knew? And I have read every single book, not that I can remember what happened.
I seem to recall some pics of BB and JTL with some long hair too.
We ordered from Amazon and then couldn’t wait until Saturday to get our copy. RJW trekked out at 12:01 to buy a second copy from our local seller. I started it at 7:15 yesterday morning, read for most of the day and finished at 12:06 this morning….I am sad it’s over, I will miss Harry and Co…….

gasp - you haven’t read them? Hope that’s been remedied by now. Great books, I waited in line myself for the last one, just to join in the fervor. Only took me 2 nights to read, with a break to play with “my” kids. MB is smart, listen to him!
