And the Other Mothers from the umpteenth baby shower I attended yesterday and were reminded for the hundredth time that I don’t really get it because I don’t have any yet - I am a mother, too! I have 3 beotch kitties, a Terrorist pup pup, a Booger Bear, a Monkey Boy, and 1200 middle schoolers. I may not be a “mother” in the epidural sense of the word, but I am a nurturer and a caregiver. I do want a baby of my own, but I cannot have a baby of my own. It is none of your business why I am 36 and childless.
Wow! Please tell me I am not among the other mothers you are talking about…..I would never intentionally say anything to imply that you don’t get it. You are a mom…if I have EVER said anything to the contrary, I am sorry….more to say, but best said in person or on the phone.

No, kdw, you are not one of the other mothers. I did not even mean to insinuate that you could have been one of them. You know how hard baby showers are for me, and maybe I let someone else’s comments bother me a little more than I should have.
On a more positive note, you hosted a beautiful shower, and I hope you got the appreciation you so much deserved.
