I just peeked out my window to confirm what I feared to still be true and then stepped out of the house to try to snap a picture to add to this post. It did not come out very clear; hence, I am attaching a fake but very similar one.

I must report that the Mexicans across the street STILL have the Christmas lights up and on their house. Today is Saturday, January 20, 2007, and it is now 10:49 PM. People like to poke fun at Cajuns, but these people obviously have no clue. Does someone else know something that I do not know? I thought the Epiphany was like 14 days ago. Please, Garcia family, please. Enough is enough.

Actually… liturgically Christmastide does not end until February 2nd. (Hey! I never knew until I became a nun.) So those Mexicans are simply celebrating the entire season. If they don’t take the lights down by February 3rd you can leave them a note that time’s up. Or… they are just early for Mardi Gras
