Since I have a school theme going this first week of school, I’ll keep it up for my regular Thursday entry. Which one is the lie?
1. A student on my alpha list told his teacher to “kiss his ass” and admitted to it proudly moments later in my office, stating “I did what I had to do to get sent home. I hate school!”
2. After a “special” student pooped in his pants while helping his teacher in the student store at second lunch, my partner dean offered the principal a “brown poopsicle” over the P.A. system.
3. Two parents threatened to kick each other’s asses over a parking space in the east lot after school today. Our school policemen had to cite them for campus disturbance.
I love my job! Really!

Wow! All of those are disturbingly realistic.
I wish number one to be the lie, but it’s probably not. Kids who don’t want to be at school can find a way to get out. At least this kid is direct and honest. Maybe he’ll run for office. I might vote for him. His campaign posters could read: “No, we won’t cut taxes. We need your fuckin’ money to build more prisons, and I want a raise.”
Number three should be the lie, but it’s probably not. I consider any violence between two sober adults a bit disturbing, but at least it was regarding something important.
I think number two is the lie. Although it’s the most disgusting physically (poopsicle, ewww), it doesn’t involve people threatening to do harm to themselves or others. “We don’t need no education.” — no harm there.
So frightening! Since we talked last night, I already know that one of these is a truth. I will say number 2 is the lie. Not because it’s not believable, but because I can’t imagine an adult saying the words “brown poopsicle” over a PA system and not having the school fall apart in giggles!
