I love going to see a sappy movie by myself, telling my husband about how great it was later, and attempting to guilt him into seeing it again with me “like all the other men in the theater.” I went to see Must Love Dogs today after depositing Monkey Boy and a friend in the theater next door to see Sky High. I may have had to be high to see that one. After being tricked into seeing Garfield the Movie with him and the same friend last summer when Booger Bear refused, I vowed to figure a way out next time. I calculated that I would be out ten minutes before they would be and felt less guilty about leaving them unaccompanied for twenty minutes before their movie began. Of course, I threatened them within an inch of their lives and bribed them with soda, popcorn, and candy.
I am one of those people who usually hates to do public things alone, but today was an exception. And, I have to say, I really enjoyed myself. But, I digress, so back to the movie. Yes, the story/script was not original, but the performances were outstanding. I have been a die hard John Cusack fan since Say Anything. I wanted to marry Lloyd Dobler after he held the boom box over his head and blasted Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” for Diane Court. Coincidentally, I think Booger Bear most resembles John Cusack, Noah Wyle, and former orch dork all rolled up into one great package. Again, I digress.
I want to look like Diane Lane when I am 40. She’s like fine wine and only seems to get better with age. Her past few performances have been fantastic. Check out Under the Tuscan Sun and Unfaithful if you have not seen them.
This movie also featured noteworthy performances by Christopher Plummer, Stockard Channing, Elizabeth Perkins, and Dermont Mulroney.
Back to the title of this entry, I am an incurable romantic because I am a sucker for any chick flick, including a predictable one. I am also a grateful wife today because I cannot imagine having to enter the dating scene again after 9+ years. I found my “perfect match” on my 25th birthday and haven’t looked around one time since. I love you to the sky, BB.

Lloyd Dobler: I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don’t want to do that.

On your recommendation I saw this movie today. Cute. Stockard Channing looks older than I remember her from West Wing. I think BB looks like Tom Cruise.
BB thinks TC is a fairy alien boy with issues. He he.
