I am a firm believer in the saying that people come into and out of our lives for special reasons. One of the first people I met when I was hired in the school district was an older woman who reminded me very much of my late Aunt Betty. We became friends instantly, and I always knew that I go to her for any reason. When I left that school, we went our separate ways, speaking only occasionally by phone or email. I felt guilty for not keeping in touch and thought of her many times as five full years went by. Just recently, I started an email to her, but I never sent it wondering whether too much time had passed. Today, as I ventured down the bread aisle of a local store, I saw my dear old friend push her cart closer to me. The instant she smiled I knew that nothing had changed. I hugged her tightly and told her how much I had missed her. Over the next fifteen minutes, we caught up on each other’s lives as if no time had passed, promised to call each other soon, and walked away smiling and waving. Was this a coincidence or a chance? I am not sure, but I do know that no opportunity should be wasted. As I finish this entry, I will send that email to reconnect with someone I can call “friend.”

Disclaimer a la Fight Club
If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think every thing you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned. ~ Tyler Durden -

It’s been said (quite glibly I might add) that “there are no accidents.” While I am not one who believes that 100%, I do believe the spirit works with everything at its disposal, to wake us up, remind us that there is way more to comprehend in this life than meets the eyeball dead on.
